UX Research
At Shelter we have specialist user researchers that do research all the time; but everyone in UX will perform research as part of their roles, either collaboratively or independently.
On these pages you will find resources to help you do that, including:
Start here: https://shelteruk.atlassian.net/l/c/Ht2v2nQA = this gives you a framework to follow when conducting research at Shelter
https://shelteruk.atlassian.net/l/c/tao5Zd35 = consent rules and resources
https://shelteruk.atlassian.net/l/c/hT5yh81k = how to keep yourself and participants safe at Shelter, and what to do if something goes wrong
= the research tools we use, and how we use them
Library:
We have a low fidelity library (list) of all the user research we have done to date.
Budget:
We have a yearly research budget in Digital, which is intended to cover all our tool and research costs. Our 2021-22 budget is 15k, and is co-managed by the Senior Researcher and UX Lead. If you’d like to use some of this budget, or some userlytics credits, for your research project please contact the Senior Researcher. Sometimes research costs will also be covered by other projects, such as Triage.
Scotland’s research budget is generally separate from this; but we can still manage the tools and credits and cross-charge them back.
